We specialise in replacing lost and stolen items for insurance companies
Unfortunately many of us have the misfortune where we lose or damage a piece of jewellery.
This can be a stressful time.
We have over the last 30 years a lot of experience working with insurance companies, to help you sort out your insurance claim.

Is your jewellery covered by your home insurance policy?
Most home insurance policies cover the loss or theft of personal items, including jewellery, as standard. But they have claim limits for individual items, as well as total claim limits.
You will need to tell your insurer if you think any single item exceeds the policy claim limits.

Most standard home cover policies set single item claim limits that usually range from £500 to £2,500.
You can check your claim limits by calling your insurer.
Insurance Valuation Certificate's
Protect your treasured possessions.
Our experts examine your jewellery and provide a written valuation that acts as a legal document you can use for insurance. Each item is digitally photographed to note any distinguishing features and write a full description of each item. This makes it much easier to identify your jewellery if it’s even lost or stolen.

Insurance Claims, pitfalls & Guidance.

Unfortunately many of us have the misfortune to lose or damage a piece of jewellery.
This can be a stressful time and over the last 30 years we have a lot of experience working with insurance companies, to help sort out your claims.
This experience has led us to gather some useful guidance together. This can helpful if remedial jewellery repairs are needed.
Firstly, read and know the jewellery section in your policy. Look out for the total amount of jewellery you have cover for; the Single Item Limit and any exclusions. This can be simply worded or more complex as all policies vary - do check though as it's essential. Note how your insurer will replace your items. Some will allow you to choose the manner of replacement, others will steer you into their replacement network. Are you happy with that? Do bear in mind you can insure jewellery separately and this type of policy may not have an excess, unlike most home insurances and often standalone policies may be more understanding of jewellery, rather than 'standard' package policies.
Second, keep a record of what you have. This isn't the same as formal valuations for insurance; after all you may not need single items valued. You can make a note and photograph your items as a record - this way you can prove to an insurer what you own.
Take photograph's with a ruler for scale, and weight the item too, All insurers will require you have proof of the value of an item in order to be able to claim for it, so if you do not have a valuation, try to keep the jewellers receipt, this can be used in conjunction with photographs, if you need to make a jewellery insurance claim.

In the event of a claim don't be immediately persuaded into accepting how the loss handling process goes or the terms of your settlement, if you prefer , we can liaise on your behalf.
Often you'll be offered vouchers - a common scheme is LMG vouchers which we accept we can check your policy to see if this voucher settlement is there.
If you ask for a cash settlement, you may be offered less than your claim on the grounds that the handler believes they can replace exactly what you lost for a lower amount.
